I wanted to realise this
site, together with my son Roberto, to link both virtual and real relationships
with those who will visit these pages, dedicated to my town: Orsara
di Pùglia (FG).
I' m Pietrantonio Fatibene, a "guaranteed quality" villager
of Orsara.
I teach Non-verbal Languages and History of Art in the Higher Education
Institute "A. Rosmini" in Lucera (FG). These are two subjects
that I intensely live since when, as a boy, I started to be involved
in photography, cinematography and architecture.
The passion for photographical and cinematographical arts made me realise
documents which I consider important because they run through more than
forty years of life in my town, of the surrounding lands and of my life.
More. Passion drove me to give birth to a photographical file which
sums up a hundred years of life of the town I live in.
I took part in photographical exhibitions: I realised videos that concern
art and architecture of some towns of pre-apenninic Daunia; I founded
in the seventies of the past century, together with other friends of
mine (don M. Pepe, don R. Marino), a television station called "Telecattolica"
(now situated in Lucera); I gave birth with E. Battagliotti, A. Casoria
e don M. Pepe to the local Diocesan Museum.
After a long administrative parenthesis, during which I covered the
offices of political secretary of a local branch, of public works councillor
and Mayor for more than seven years, I decided to dedicate my free time
to communicate, through the pages of my site, most of all, with my fellow-citizens
all over the world.
To belong, to identify, to know and to recognise oneself, to note and
virtually communicate. These are the targets I am determined to reach.
The dream I'd like to realise is to meet one day in Orsara di Puglia
all my emigrated fellow-citizens, that assimilated here the imprinting
they always bring with them, in the DNA of their personal history.
My engagement is in the wake of rediscovering the simplicity of our
local area, of our both civil and religious old traditions, of the tastes
of our essential and poor kitchen, of the genuine taste of conviviality,
of the simple naturalness in human relationships, of the brightness
of the colours of our land and our sky, still remained untouched.
yours, Pietrantonio
Fatibene
